Freedom Camp 2007

This year’s Freedom Camp had a great mixture of regular, brand new and returning volunteers and two new young people which gave a fresh feeling to the Camp. During the holiday we did lots of centre based activities such as a treasure hunt, Easter crafts, team games, a chill out session and making the dining room into a flying saucer for the last night party!

Looking back the highlight of the Camp was going to the theatre to see Eclipse, a circus musical with musicians, dancers and trapeze artists. The trapeze artists flying overhead were amazing. Dionne couldn't get over her excitement that they were flying over us, Clare helped her buy the DVD to take home to remember. Sonia got into the music so much that she tried to go on stage to join the dancers and their outfits were much admired by Troy and Aidan.

We also had fish and chips in one night and went back to the adventure playground in Staffordshire and had to drag people away when it shut for the day. We took over the roundabout and giant swing which Tania and Troy enjoyed again and Sonia loved the big blue swing she found last year. Aidan laughed a lot when he tried the zip wire. All the centre staff were as helpful and welcoming as ever.
